Your assistant’s voice and tone shape how callers perceive your business. A warm, natural-sounding voice paired with the right conversational style can make every interaction feel personal and professional. You’ll find both settings on the assistant detail page. Go to Assistants, click on your assistant, then use the Voice and Tone & Style tabs.

Choosing a voice

VozAgent offers two options for your assistant’s voice:

Built-in voices

Choose from a library of professional, natural-sounding AI voices. Each voice has a name, gender, accent, and a short description so you can find the right fit. To change the voice:
  1. Go to the Voice tab on your assistant detail page
  2. Make sure Use a built-in voice is selected
  3. Click Change Voice
  4. A panel opens with all available voices
From here you can:
  • Filter by language — Use the dropdown at the top to switch between English, Portuguese, and Spanish
  • Preview a voice — Click the play button next to any voice to hear a sample
  • Select a voice — Click on a voice card to highlight it, then click Save Selection
Each voice card shows the voice name, gender, accent, and a brief description to help you pick one that matches your brand.

Voice clone (Enterprise)

If you’re on the Enterprise plan, you can create a custom voice clone using your own voice. This makes your AI assistant sound like you (or someone on your team). To create a voice clone:
  1. Select Create your voice clone
  2. Click Create Voice Clone
  3. Review the recording tips (quiet environment, proper microphone distance, natural speaking pace)
  4. Click Next Step to open the recording screen
  5. Read the provided script clearly and naturally — aim for 1 to 3 minutes
  6. Click Stop Recording when you’re done
The recording screen shows a live volume meter so you can keep your levels in the ideal range. The target recording duration is between 1 and 3 minutes for the best results.
Tip: If you use your own voice clone, consider customizing your greeting to match the name and personality of your assistant.
Voice cloning is only available on the Enterprise plan. If you’re on another plan, you’ll see an “Enterprise” badge on this option and can upgrade from your billing settings.

Setting the tone and style

The tone setting controls how your assistant communicates with callers — the words it chooses, how formal it sounds, and the overall feel of the conversation. Go to the Tone & Style tab on your assistant detail page to see all available options.

Available tones

ToneWhat it sounds like
FriendlyWarm and welcoming — makes callers feel comfortable right away
CalmRelaxed and steady — keeps conversations smooth and stress-free
ProfessionalPolished and business-like — projects expertise and reliability
ConfidentAssertive and clear — sounds knowledgeable and in control
Straight to the pointDirect and efficient — gets to business without unnecessary small talk

How to change the tone

  1. Click on the tone that best fits your business
  2. Check the Mid-Conversation Preview at the top of the section — it shows a sample exchange so you can see how each tone sounds in practice
  3. Click Publish Changes at the top of the page to save
The preview shows a mock customer question (“Can you tell me more about your services?”) and your assistant’s response in the selected tone, so you can compare options quickly.

Tips for choosing voice and tone

  • Match your brand. A law firm might prefer a Professional tone with a composed voice, while a friendly neighborhood salon might pick a Friendly tone with a warm voice.
  • Think about your callers. If your customers are often stressed (emergency plumbing, roadside assistance), a Calm tone can help put them at ease.
  • Preview before publishing. Always listen to the voice sample and read the tone preview before saving. Small differences can have a big impact on caller experience.
  • You can change these anytime. Voice and tone settings take effect immediately after publishing, so feel free to experiment.
