Opening a Transcript
- Go to the Call Activity page
- Click on any call to open the detail panel
- Select the Transcript tab (next to “Call Details”)
Chat-Style Transcript View
Transcripts are displayed in a chat-style format that looks similar to a messaging app. This makes it easy to follow the back-and-forth between your AI assistant and the caller. Each message in the transcript shows:Speaker Identification
Every message has a label indicating who said it:- Assistant — Messages from your AI assistant, shown with a bot icon and a colored badge. The badge displays the assistant’s actual name (e.g., “Sarah” or “Reception Bot”) rather than a generic label.
- Caller — Messages from the person on the other end of the call, shown with a person icon. If the caller is a known contact, their name appears on the badge (e.g., “John Smith”). Otherwise, it shows “User.”
Timestamps
Each message includes a relative timestamp showing when it was spoken during the call. Timestamps are displayed in the format+HH:MM:SS.ms — for example, +00:01:23.45 means the message occurred 1 minute and 23 seconds into the call.
These timestamps are calculated from the call’s start time, so you always know exactly when in the conversation something was said.
Message Content
The actual text of what was spoken. Messages preserve line breaks and formatting from the original speech-to-text conversion.- Assistant messages are shown in a muted background bubble
- Caller messages are shown in a light accent bubble
Plain Text Transcript (Fallback)
Some calls — particularly older ones — may only have a plain text transcript instead of the structured chat format. In these cases, you’ll see:- A label reading “Plain text transcript:”
- A scrollable text block with the full transcript
- A copy button to copy the entire transcript to your clipboard
Copying Transcript Text
For the plain text transcript view, a copy button appears in the top-right corner. Click it to copy the entire transcript to your clipboard. A confirmation message (“Transcript copied to clipboard”) appears when successful. For the chat-style view, you can select and copy individual messages using your browser’s standard text selection. When No Transcript Is Available
If a transcript hasn’t been generated yet — for example, if the call is still in progress or just ended — you’ll see:No Transcript Available — The conversation transcript will appear here once the call is completed.Transcripts are generated automatically after each call ends. For most calls, the transcript will be available within a few moments. If the call was extremely short or ended with an error, no transcript may be available at all. In that case, the same “No transcript available for this call” message appears.
Tips for Using Transcripts
- Scan by speaker — The left/right layout makes it quick to see what your assistant said versus what the caller said, without reading every word
- Check timestamps to understand the pacing of the conversation — long gaps between messages may indicate the caller was thinking or your assistant was processing
- Review alongside the recording — Open the Call Details tab to listen to the audio while reading the transcript in the Transcript tab for a complete picture
- Use the AI summary first — The call summary on the Call Details tab gives you a quick overview. Only dive into the full transcript when you need the exact wording.
Next Steps
- Listening to Recordings — Play back the audio alongside the transcript
