What You Need
Before setting up the integration:- A VozAgent account with an active subscription
- A Zapier account (free or paid — the free tier works for basic automations)
- A VozAgent API key — you’ll need this to connect Zapier to your account
Step 1: Create a VozAgent API Key
Zapier uses your API key to authenticate with VozAgent.- In VozAgent, go to Integrations in the sidebar
- Click the API Keys tab
- Click Create API Key
- Enter a name like “Zapier Integration”
- Click Create API Key
- Copy the key immediately — it’s only shown once
Step 2: Connect VozAgent in Zapier
- Log in to your Zapier account
- Click Create a Zap (or go to an existing Zap)
- When choosing a trigger or action app, search for VozAgent
- Select VozAgent from the results
- When prompted to connect your account, paste your VozAgent API key
- Zapier will verify the key and connect to your account
- You should see a success message confirming the connection
Available Triggers
Triggers are events in VozAgent that start a Zap. When the trigger event happens, Zapier runs the actions you’ve configured.| Trigger | Description |
|---|---|
| New Call | Fires when your assistant completes a call. Includes call details like duration, transcript summary, and caller information. |
| New Contact | Fires when a new contact is created in VozAgent, whether from a call, a webhook, or manual entry. |
| New Appointment | Fires when your assistant books an appointment during a call. Includes appointment time, contact info, and calendar details. |
Available Actions
Actions are things Zapier can do in VozAgent when triggered by another app.| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Create Contact | Adds a new contact to your VozAgent contact list. Map fields like first name, last name, phone, email, and company. |

Tips for Using Zapier with VozAgent
- Test your Zaps. After setting up a Zap, use Zapier’s test feature to send sample data and verify everything maps correctly before turning it on.
- Use filters wisely. Zapier lets you add filter steps between triggers and actions. For example, only send Slack notifications for calls that lasted more than 30 seconds (to skip missed calls or quick hang-ups).
- Keep your API key secure. Don’t share your VozAgent API key with others. If you need to revoke access, delete the key in VozAgent and create a new one.
- Check Zap history. If a Zap isn’t working as expected, go to the Zap’s run history in Zapier to see what data was received and where it failed.
- Use one API key per integration. Create a separate API key for Zapier so you can revoke it independently if needed without affecting other integrations.
Troubleshooting
”Authentication failed” When Connecting
Make sure you’re using the full API key (not the masked preview from the API Keys table). The full key is only shown once at creation time. If you’ve lost it, create a new key in VozAgent.Zap Not Firing
- Check that the Zap is turned on in Zapier
- Verify the trigger event happened — for example, if the trigger is “New Call,” make sure a call actually completed in VozAgent
- Check Zapier’s task history for any error messages
- Re-test the trigger in the Zap editor to make sure Zapier can still connect to VozAgent
Data Not Mapping Correctly
- Re-test the trigger step to get fresh sample data
- Check your field mappings — make sure each Zapier field is mapped to the correct VozAgent field
- Look for formatting issues — phone numbers, for example, may need to be formatted differently for the destination app
Zapier Shows “No New Data”
When testing a trigger, Zapier looks for recent events. If you see “No new data found,” it means no matching events have occurred recently. Try making a test call or creating a test contact in VozAgent, then re-test the trigger.Related Articles
