If you already have a business phone number that your customers know, you do not need to switch it out. Instead, you can forward calls from your existing number to your VozAgent number so your AI assistant answers them automatically. This is the most common setup for businesses getting started with VozAgent. Your customers keep calling the same number they always have, and your AI assistant picks up.

How It Works

Call forwarding is set up on your phone carrier’s side, not inside VozAgent. Here is the general process:
  1. Get a VozAgent phone number — If you have not already, purchase a phone number and assign it to an assistant.
  2. Set up forwarding with your carrier — Tell your phone carrier to forward incoming calls to your VozAgent number.
  3. Test — Call your business number and confirm your AI assistant answers.

Choosing a Forwarding Method

Most carriers offer several forwarding options. Choose the one that best fits how you want your calls handled:

For most VozAgent users, unconditional forwarding (all calls) is the best choice. This ensures your AI assistant handles every call without delay.

Carrier-Specific Instructions

Below are instructions for the most common US phone carriers. The steps are similar across carriers: you either dial a short code from your phone or change a setting in your carrier’s app or website.

AT&T

  1. Pick up your phone and dial *72.
  2. Enter your VozAgent phone number (e.g., 3055551234).
  3. Press Call/Send. You will hear a confirmation tone or message.
  4. To cancel forwarding later, dial *73.

Verizon

  1. Dial *72 from your phone.
  2. Enter your VozAgent phone number.
  3. Press Call/Send and wait for confirmation.
  4. To cancel, dial *73.

T-Mobile

  1. Dial **21*[your VozAgent number]# and press Call/Send.
  2. You will see or hear a confirmation that forwarding is active.
  3. To cancel, dial ##21# and press Call/Send.

Xfinity / Comcast Business

  1. Log in to your Xfinity Business account or dial *72 from your business phone.
  2. Enter your VozAgent phone number.
  3. Press Call/Send and wait for confirmation.
  4. To cancel, dial *73.

Spectrum Business

  1. Dial *72 from your business line.
  2. Enter your VozAgent phone number followed by #.
  3. Wait for the confirmation tone.
  4. To cancel, dial *73.

VoIP Providers (RingCentral, Vonage, Grasshopper, Google Voice, etc.)

Most VoIP services let you set forwarding rules in their online dashboard or admin portal. The general steps are:
  1. Log in to your VoIP provider’s web dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Call Handling, Call Routing, or Forwarding Rules.
  3. Add your VozAgent phone number as a forwarding destination.
  4. Set it to forward all calls (or configure rules for specific times or conditions).
  5. Save your changes.
Refer to your VoIP provider’s help documentation for exact menu locations.

Tips for a Smooth Setup

  • Test before going live. After setting up forwarding, call your business number from a different phone. Confirm that your VozAgent assistant answers and the conversation flows as expected.
  • Set a fallback destination. In your phone number settings, set the Fallback Destination to your personal cell or office phone. If VozAgent is ever unreachable, calls will forward there instead.
  • Use your local area code. When purchasing your VozAgent number, choose a number in the same area code as your business. This is not required for forwarding to work, but it keeps things consistent if the number ever appears on a caller ID.
  • Allow a few minutes. After activating forwarding with your carrier, it may take a few minutes for the change to take effect. Wait 2—5 minutes before testing.

Removing Call Forwarding

If you want to stop forwarding and go back to answering calls yourself:
  1. Follow the cancellation steps for your carrier (usually dialing *73 or adjusting settings in your provider’s dashboard).
  2. Call your business number to verify that calls ring your phone directly again.
Your VozAgent phone number will still work as a direct line — only the forwarding from your other number is removed.
