What Is a Widget?
A widget is a small, embeddable component that adds a chat or voice interface to your website. When a visitor opens the widget, they’re connected to one of your VozAgent assistants in real time. The assistant can answer questions, capture lead information, and even book appointments — all from within the browser. Think of it as a 24/7 front desk for your website. Visitors get instant responses, and you get captured leads sent straight to your inbox.Widget Modes
Every widget operates in one of three modes, which you choose when creating the widget key:| Mode | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Chat | Text-based chat only. Visitors type messages and get text responses from your assistant. |
| Voice | Voice-based interaction only. Visitors can speak with your assistant through their browser microphone. |
| Chat & Voice | Both options available. Visitors can choose to type or talk, whichever they prefer. |
Why Use Widgets?
Widgets solve a common problem for home service businesses: website visitors who have questions but don’t want to call. Here are a few ways they help:- Capture more leads — Not everyone wants to pick up the phone. A chat widget gives visitors another way to reach you, so you don’t lose potential customers who would otherwise leave your site.
- Answer questions instantly — Your assistant uses your knowledge base to respond to common questions about services, pricing, hours, and more.
- Qualify leads automatically — The widget can collect contact information, project details, budget, and timeline before you ever speak to the customer.
- Book appointments — If you have a calendar integration connected, visitors can schedule appointments directly through the widget.
- Work around the clock — The widget is available 24/7, even when you’re on a job site or after hours.
How Widgets Work
- You create a widget key for one of your assistants, choosing a mode (chat, voice, or both)
- You customize the appearance — set colors, greeting messages, avatar, and intake questions
- You copy the embed code and paste it into your website
- Visitors interact with your assistant directly from your site
- Leads and conversations appear in your VozAgent inbox
The Widgets Page
The Widgets page in your dashboard lists all your active assistants. Each assistant can have one widget key associated with it. For each assistant, you’ll see:- Assistant name — the name of the assistant powering the widget
- Mode badge — Chat, Voice, or Chat & Voice
- Widget key — the first 12 characters of the public key, for quick reference
- Create button — if no widget key exists yet, admins can create one with a single click
