Your AI assistant needs a phone number to receive (and make) calls. VozAgent lets you search for and get phone numbers directly from the platform, then assign them to your assistants.

Getting a Phone Number

  1. Go to Phone System in the Admin section of the sidebar.
  2. Click Add Phone Number in the top right corner.
This opens the number search panel where you can find a number that fits your business.

Search Options

  • Number Type — Choose between:
    • Local — A standard local number with a specific area code
    • Mobile — A mobile number
    • Toll-Free — A toll-free number (800, 888, etc.)
  • Area Code — Enter a 3-digit area code to find numbers in your local area (e.g., 305 for Miami, 212 for New York). This is optional.
  • Contains Pattern — Search for numbers containing specific digits (e.g., “555”). This is optional.
Click Search to see available numbers.

Choosing a Number

Search results show each number along with its capabilities (Voice, SMS) and location. Click Get Number next to the one you want. You’ll see a confirmation dialog showing the number you’re about to get. Click Confirm to proceed.
Note: Each plan includes a set number of phone numbers. If you’ve reached your plan limit, you can either upgrade your plan or add an extra number as an add-on ($5/month per number).

Assigning a Phone Number to an Assistant

Once you have a phone number, you need to connect it to an assistant so it knows what to do when a call comes in.
  1. On the Phone System page, click on the phone number you want to configure.
  2. In the Inbound Settings section, select an assistant from the Assistant dropdown.
  3. Optionally, set a Fallback Destination — a phone number to forward calls to if the assistant is unavailable.
  4. Click Save Changes.

Inbound vs. Outbound Settings

Each phone number has separate settings for inbound and outbound use:
  • Inbound Settings — Which assistant answers incoming calls on this number, plus a fallback forwarding number.
  • Outbound Settings — Which assistant and phone number to use when making outbound calls from campaigns.
You can assign different assistants for inbound and outbound on the same number.

Other Settings

  • Phone Number Label — Give the number a friendly name like “Main Office Line” or “After-Hours Line” for easy reference.
  • SMS Enabled — Toggle SMS messaging on or off for the number (available for Twilio numbers).

How to Use Your Number

There are two main ways to put your VozAgent number to work:
  • Forward your existing business number — Set up call forwarding from your current business phone to your VozAgent number. This way, callers dial your existing number and your AI assistant picks up.
  • Use it as a direct line — Give out your VozAgent number directly as your business line.
Your AI assistant will answer all incoming calls automatically, 24/7.
