Assigning a Phone Number to an Assistant
Once you have a phone number, you need to connect it to an assistant so it knows what to do when a call comes in.- On the Phone System page, click on the phone number you want to configure.
- In the Inbound Settings section, select an assistant from the Assistant dropdown.
- Optionally, set a Fallback Destination — a phone number to forward calls to if the assistant is unavailable.
- Click Save Changes.
Inbound vs. Outbound Settings
Each phone number has separate settings for inbound and outbound use:- Inbound Settings — Which assistant answers incoming calls on this number, plus a fallback forwarding number.
- Outbound Settings — Which assistant and phone number to use when making outbound calls from campaigns.
Other Settings
- Phone Number Label — Give the number a friendly name like “Main Office Line” or “After-Hours Line” for easy reference.
- SMS Enabled — Toggle SMS messaging on or off for the number (available for Twilio numbers).
How to Use Your Number
There are two main ways to put your VozAgent number to work:- Forward your existing business number — Set up call forwarding from your current business phone to your VozAgent number. This way, callers dial your existing number and your AI assistant picks up.
- Use it as a direct line — Give out your VozAgent number directly as your business line.
Next Steps
Now that your assistant has a phone number, it’s ready to take calls. You might also want to:- Add contacts to your contact list for outbound campaigns
- Check your dashboard to see call analytics as they come in
